- Aftermarket putter shafts that don’t twist like steel putters shafts
- Your putter face is twisting up to 3 degrees during the stroke due to the cheap, steel shaft
- Stability shafts come in 3 models which fit 99% of putters on the market – Carbon, Tour and One
Stability shafts are aftermarket putter shafts made by Breakthrough Golf Technology – founded by Barney Adams (Adam’s Golf). They were developed in order to reduce torque and remove twisting of the putter face which occurs during the stroke itself as well as on off-center strikes. Modern putters are considerably heavier than traditional designs (up to 100 grams heavier in some cases), but shafts were not changed to accommodate them. Steel putter shafts have an extremely thin wall and a longitudinal grain created from elongation/stretching processes during manufacturing. That design helps remove bend but does a terrible job at counteracting twist. The major factors in traditional steel putter shaft design are focused on high volume manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction… aka they are CHEAP and relatively flimsy.
Stability putter shafts are made from high modulus carbon fiber which is woven together in a crosshatch pattern resulting in resistance of movement in all directions. The wall thickness of a Stability shaft is roughly 3 times thicker than steel which translates vibration up to the grip and player’s hands much better to enhance feel and sensitivity along with the major benefit of twist/torque reduction. You’ll immediately notice the difference in consistency and enhanced touch with a Stability shaft. The most common feedback we get is that distance control is instantly better and robotic testing has explicitly demonstrated the tighter dispersion created from a more stable putter face.
Are Stability shafts the same as Odyssey Stroke Lab shafts? NO!!!!!! Stroke Lab shafts are more flimsy than steel and their designed purpose is to remove weight from the shaft in order to feel the weight of the club head which comes at the HIGH COST of a twisting putter face. But don’t take my word for it, here’s Ian Fraser comparing the two shafts:
Are Stability shafts the same as LA Golf putter shafts? NO!!!!!!!! BGT has published testing data showing the Stability One is 63% more consistent and 27% more accurate than LA Golf P Series putter shafts. Stability Carbon shafts are HALF the price as well!!!
